battery park city dentist

One of the things we like to do for our patients here on our blog is to point out some great things to see and do in our local area. NYC of course bustles at any time, day or night, and there’s no shortage of things to explore. But it’s easy to get overwhelmed and it’s easy to get stuck in a rut.

As members of the community we like pointing things out and curating neat stuff you can do when you’re not working or running errands. After all, we’re not just dentists. We’re people, too. We don’t think about teeth all the time, and we can only lecture you about your oral health so much.

Today we want to talk about Battery Park City. If you’re feeling a little too hemmed in by the urban landscape, Battery Park City’s roughly 25 acres of reclaimed park land can help you get back to nature without forcing you to travel very far.

Battery Park is a nice alternative to Central Park. Stroll by Bosque Fountain or enjoy some heirloom produce from the Battery Urban Farm. The Bosque Flower Gardens are a delight to the eye as well, and feature a nice view of the waterfront.

If you really need to de-stress you should try the Battery Labyrinth. It’s a walking path that runs 358 to the center, then 358 out again. It’s meant for reflection, meditation, and healing.

From time to time you’ll find some workshops and events at Battery Park as well. For example, on September 19th you can attend “The Buzz About Bees,” a workshop designed to teach people about bees. It seems mostly aimed at kids as there’s a flower crown project. However, it’s also a chance to see the park’s beehives.

Of course, once you’re tired of the park there’s plenty of other stuff to do in Battery Park City itself. If you head out to the riverfront you can typically catch one of the talented street performers who will be hard at work offering entertainment to a healthy crowd.

If you’re feeling adventurous you can check out the Manhattan Sailing School. They offer weekend classes, and of course they have sailboats to use while you’re learning. You might pick up a lifelong hobby. Once you graduate from Sailing School you can start renting their boats whenever you want, so you don’t even have to have the means to buy a sailboat in order to start enjoying what it feels like to literally have the wind in your sails.

You can rent bikes, too. BikeAndRoll.com has plenty of stations in Battery Park City. Since this community is rich with bike paths it’s a great way to explore the area at the ground level.

If you’re hungry, just keep an eye out for one of the food trucks. There aren’t a lot of destination restaurants here and the cafes that are around the riverfront do fill up their seating pretty fast. If you’re just out and about a food truck is going to be your best bet.

You’ll find a healthy variety of cuisine styles rolling around out there: we’ve seen high class Mexican fare, Belgian waffles, Chinese food and more.

So just how close would you be to our offices out in Battery Park City? Battery Park City actually borders the financial district where our office is located. If you live there or work there it’s a quick trip up to 225 Broadway. That’s one reason why we chose to showcase this neighborhood—quite a few of our staff members love heading over to this quiet little district during their off hours.

If you don’t live in Battery Park City and have yet to take in all it has to offer then schedule some time to do just that as soon as you can. You won’t be disappointed!

Please feel free to call our Manhattan office at 212-571-0033 to schedule a no-obligation consultation.

Thank you very much for your submission! We will get back to you as soon as possible.
