5 Smile Flaws You Didn't Know Veneers Can Fix

If you weren’t born with a Hollywood smile or time has taken a toll on your teeth, dental veneers can change that.
Dental veneers are wafer-thin shells, made of porcelain, that fit over your teeth to camouflage more smile flaws than you may know.
At Central Avenue Dental, our team has helped countless patients get their ideal smiles. We have three convenient New York locations: Valley Stream, New York, and the Tribeca and Midtown East neighborhoods of Manhattan in New York City.
5 smile flaws veneers can fix
Here are some of the most common reasons our patients choose veneers:
1. Discoloration that whitening can’t correct
Surface staining can be removed with tooth whitening products. Still, if the discoloration has seeped through the enamel into the dentin inside your teeth, you may need to consider veneers to whiten and brighten your smile.
2. Minor chips and cracks, or unevenness
If you have one or more small chips or cracks on your front teeth, veneers quickly and efficiently solve the problem.
Bonus: Veneers can help prevent further cracking or chipping.
3. Dull, worn-down teeth
Aging, bruxism (tooth grinding), and chewing on nonfood items (like pencils) can wear down your teeth and make them look dull. Veneers can restore your smile to its former glory and provide a fast face-lift effect to brighten your appearance.
4. Misshapen or uneven teeth
Misshapen teeth detract from your appearance, as do teeth that aren’t all the same length. You don’t have to get major dental work when veneers can provide a gleaming, straight, and even smile with perfectly shaped teeth.
5. Gapped teeth
It’s extremely common to have a small gap between your two front teeth. That doesn’t mean you have to subject yourself to years of orthodontia. Customized veneers can correct this cosmetic issue and help you smile your best in weeks.
Veneers in just two visits
In most cases, you only need two visits to our office, a couple of weeks apart, to get veneers. On the first visit, you
We discuss your smile goals, and we design your veneers. Next, your dentist removes a tiny layer of enamel from your teeth and takes molds to send to the lab.
Once your veneers have been fabricated, you’ll return to our offices to have them fitted and sealed in place. Your teeth will then be thoroughly cleaned, and your veneers will be bonded in place.
Veneers look like natural teeth so you can eat, speak, and smile naturally. They are highly stain resistant, and the porcelain they are made from has the same translucence as your natural tooth enamel.
