Dr. Aria Hourizadeh
Dr. Aria Hourizadeh is a third-year resident in the Advanced Education Program in Periodontics at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. Raised in Great Neck, New York, he attended North Shore Hebrew Academy before earning a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Neuroscience from Binghamton University. He went on to receive his DDS degree from the NYU College of Dentistry, graduating with Honors in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry. Following dental school, he completed a one-year General Practice Residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, where he gained broad clinical experience managing medically complex and surgical patients. He is currently preparing for the oral examination to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Hourizadeh is deeply passionate about periodontal regeneration and implant dentistry, with particular interests in mucogingival surgery, soft tissue augmentation, and establishing stable peri-implant tissues that support long-term restorative success. He values an interdisciplinary approach, integrating precise surgical techniques with restorative planning to optimize function, biologic health, and esthetic outcomes in complex cases. His clinical focus also includes peri-implantitis management and evidence-based strategies to enhance tissue phenotype and maintain implant longevity. Long term, Dr. Hourizadeh aims to build a collaborative, patient-centered practice while remaining actively engaged in scholarship and board certifi cation to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of periodontics.
